Economies of Scale

These are the first vertical members to be fabricated. The first one took six hours, the last one took 25 minutes. I’d like to get it down to 15.
Although we’re using a lot of steel, we’re hoping to get economies of scale on manufacturing. There are only three different pieces of steel for the structure. After a bit of experimentation, it’s possible to order the welding, lifting and turning so that each process takes the absolute minimum amount of time.
With this in mind, all of the welds are also simple straight lines on a length of steel that can be rotated and slid. The perfect application for a welding robot and the perfect gift idea for anyone having a birthday in the next six months <hint, hint honey>.
